Mackenzie holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago. In her most recent role, Mackenzie supported students at Loyola University's Wellness Center, where she provided counseling and support services. This experience has deepened her commitment to working with children, adolescents, and emerging adults through a range of issues including depression, anxiety, relational issues, and life transitions.
Mackenzie’s therapeutic approach is client-centered, collaborative, and holistic. She takes intersectionality into consideration when evaluating individuals and their relationships. She is passionate about working with the LGBTQ+ population as well as those struggling with ADHD. Her work with clients integrates several therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. Additionally, she incorporates elements of Family Systems and Attachment Theory. She strongly believes that acknowledging an individual's external environment and lived experiences is crucial for their empowerment. Mackenzie’s clients appreciate her deep empathy, authentic connection, and natural flow of conversation.
In her spare time, Mackenzie enjoys cooking, baking, and spending time with loved ones.
