Sarah Carollo, LCSW
She/Her/Hers
Clinical Supervisor
Specialties: Anxiety/Depression/Eating Disorders (Family Based Treatment)/Teens/Young Adults
Sarah earned a Bachelor’s of Social Work from Hope College and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago. Her interest in mental health began as an adolescent and blossomed over various volunteer and work experiences throughout the North Shore over the past decade. Sarah began her social work career at University of Chicago Medical Center, providing both inpatient and outpatient therapeutic support to children and families. Through this experience Sarah successfully supported families through traumatic injuries, chronic illness, mental health crises, and acute eating disorder recovery.
Sarah primarily works with adolescents and young adults struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, mood disorders, and eating disorders. She uses a broad range of therapeutic techniques and does not believe in a “one size fits all” approach for clients. Her work with clients comes from a relational, trauma informed lens, and integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Sarah has extensive training in Family Based Treatment (FBT) for adolescents with eating disorders, and completed a 6 month training/expert case consultation program through Stanford Medicine. She possesses expertise in the mental health system in Illinois and partners with school counselors, physicians, psychiatrists, and registered dietitians to ensure a wrap-around approach is being leveraged in order to meet a client’s bio-psycho-social needs.
Sarah currently resides in Chicago. When she isn’t at work, she enjoys finding new parts of the city to explore. Sarah is an “amateur foodie,” always looking to try Chicago’s newest restaurants and oldest hidden gems.
