Kelly earned a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Dayton and a Master’s in School Social Work from Loyola University. Kelly has always been passionate about helping other people and developed an interest in learning more about social work as a career during her various student teaching and observation experiences in Dayton, Ohio. Kelly has extensive experience helping students and their families navigate the stressors of school and social experiences of being and raising preteens. She has helped children and teenagers identify and manage their emotions in a more productive and healthy way. Many of the children that she works with experience challenges with self-confidence, self-esteem, anxiety, depression, peer relationships, and social communication. Kelly also has experience working in a private practice setting with children as young as 5 years old to young adults.

She pulls from a variety of therapeutic approaches during her sessions. She frequently uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), solution focused, Social Thinking techniques and enjoys bringing art into her sessions. She also likes to educate clients on the brain science behind our emotions.

Kelly has expertise in navigating and developing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and 504 plans, she brings a unique perspective in these areas as she currently also works in a school as a school social worker.
